![]() ![]() I was mildly interested when it was announced last year. This is after having collected every collectible in GTA:SA, Crackdown and coming close in Assassin's Creed. After spending about 20 hours scouring every single inch of the map ( with a map where I ticked off every location that I checked, multiple times because even with a map I couldn't find the last one or two) I think I finally burned myself out. I think it was Infamous that finally got rid of that for games without built in trackers. Thankfully one of my "off" switches for needing to complete absolutely everything is lacking having a way to track that information. On the frustrating side they count and track them in the completion percentage and there are so many of them, with no way to tick off which one's you've gotten, that for players with a psychological need to see all of the checkboxes ticked off it can be immensely agonizing. ![]() On the positive side they're all over the place and fairly easy to recognize which means most players should fairly easily max out their inventory by the end of the game. The Korok seeds are simultaneously one of the most well and frustratingly designed collectibles in a game. The useful rewards stop at around 400 if I remember correctly anyway.įor me, it's more like a small incentive to grab the game again from time to time, just to enjoy walking around the map, enjoying the atmosphere and grabbing few things on the way. From what I've read, it's more like micro-awards for reaching specific areas / exploring, some kind of small trinket to keep you going if you need, even though in my opinion the game didn't really need that to keep you exploring. Yeah, I'm not sure they ever really intended for players to grab them all. Pretty sure Nintendo's just trolling the completionists with that. The reward for this (actually, the reward for getting all the Korok seeds) is (quite literally) a golden pile of poo. Nothing else (main/side quest completion, memories, compendium) is included in the completion percentage.Įach individual goal within these (so, completing a shrine, or finding a Korok seed, or completing a Divine Beast) is worth about 0.08% of the total score- so it's really heavily weighted towards Korok seeds, of which there are 900. ![]() You're doing pretty well for yourself, aren't you? As far as the base game is concerned, you're in the end game. You could grind out shrines/quests, and there is a fair bit with the DLC once you've got all the shrines, but yeah, you've done all the main things. I don't want to be in the end-game yet, so just want to know whether or not I am. I haven't gone to try to face Calamity Ganon yet, and I'm just trying to get a feel for whether or not I'm actually in the end game and so should only go try to face him when I'm ready to finish or if the story is going to throw more stuff in the way that I need to do in order to continue the story, because if it's the former, then I'll keep mucking about doing side-quests and DLC stuff, but if it's the latter then I suppose I could go move the story more forward a bit. As far as the main story goes, am in the end game and the next thing is to face Calamity Ganon and win the game? Or is it one of those things that if I go try to do it I'll find that there's other stuff that the main quest will require me to do that extends the story a bit? Or is it more probably something like, hypothetically I can go and face him, but I'd be a lot better off grinding shrines for health (I've maxed out stamina) and upgrading my armor and stuff? So, I've found all of the memories, and I've freed all 4 divine beasts and released the champions' spirits. ![]()
